All adult ESL students in college, adult school, and the community are invited to participate in the Spring 2025 Spelling Bee hosted at Folsom Lake College.
What is a Spelling Bee?
A Spelling Bee is a friendly competition. A judge will choose a word from the word list that was given to you to study. The judge will pronounce the word and give a sample sentence. The contestant will pronounce the word, spelling the word verbally and clearly, and pronounce the word again. If the contestant spells the given word correctly, he/she will go to the end of the line for another chance to spell another word. If the contestant misspells the given word, he/she will sit down. This continues until we identify three winners for each level.
What does it cost?
This event is free for contestants and spectators. ll participants must register to be considered a contestant.
Spectators are welcome, so invite your family and friends to this free event. No tickets required. This free event is open to the public.
Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners at each level.
How do you participate in this Spelling Bee?
Submit this Google Form by April 10, 2025. Someone will confirm your registration and email you the lists of words to study.
