This flex workshop is in response to the increased use and detection of AI generated writing in ESL writing classes and its impact on student success within ESL courses, all subsequent courses in other departments and students' academic and personal goals. Participants will discuss AI writing "tools",
how to educate students to use AI ethically to support rather than produce their writing and how to humanize and personalize class activities and assessments to both enliven course materials and interactions and encourage more analytical thinking and reflection without sacrificing rigor. Attendance at this professional development activity is limited to LRCCD employees and invited participants.
