The goal of this training is to familiarize you with the “Five Ws” of the Annual Unit Planning (AUP): What, Where, When, Wobble, and Why.  AUPs are designed to promote equity and inform departmental dialogue, planning, decision-making, and resource allocation. This flex is open for everyone, but is especially important for those who are new to the process, interested in getting involved in the process, and even just those who need a reminder because it has been a year.

After this flex you should have an understanding of What the goal of AUPs are and their relationship to the Program Review.  We will cover Why this process is important and discuss significant changes to the process in the next year.  Explore Where you can go to find information, statistics, and help understanding your data and in composing objectives and strategies.   Learn the important dates When the reports are due.  And most importantly, learn How you can help in this process.  Everyone can be involved in writing and discussing the AUPs with their colleagues, departments, centers, etc..  You can even learn How you can become a part of the important committees overseeing the process.

Wait, was the fifth W for how?  Even though the W is at the end?  This is why I teach Biology.

Attendance at this professional development activity is limited to LRCCD employees and invited participants.
