Event Overview

Show your ARC pride loud and proud! Thursday unites wellness, history, sustainability, athletics, culture, and music in a day packed with energy and celebration. We kick off at the Library with a look at ARC’s 70-year legacy, then move as a community to the Student Center Quad for a high-energy rally and all-day hub of activity.

Thursday’s Themed Attire

Chalk the Walk (9:00 – 10:00 AM : Various Locations, Starting Point TBD)

  • Hosted by the Arts Department, students will fill campus walkways with colorful chalk art and positive affirmations.
  • Messages will highlight pride, identity, belonging, and encouragement for the ARC community.
  • Artwork will remain on display throughout the week, creating a vibrant path leading into Thursday’s Wellness Walk.
  • Chalking ends at the Library 1st Floor so participants can participate in the Wellness Walk

ARC Wellness Walk (10:00 - 10:45 AM : Starts at the Library)

  • Begin at the Library, where the 1st floor features the ARC Archives Display of historic photos, yearbooks, and memorabilia.
  • Walk along pathways brightened by Chalk the Walk affirmations created earlier in the week, carrying positive messages into the day.
  • Pause at mindfulness stations hosted by ARC Health & Wellness for simple activities that encourage relaxation, balance, and self-care.
  • Students: experience the Wellness Walk as a health & wellness activity and connect with the ARC community.
  • Faculty & staff: use this time as your daily walk around campus while engaging with students and colleagues.
  • Reminder: keep an eye out — you may discover your next scavenger hunt clue along the way!
  • The route ends at the stadium, flowing directly into the 11:00 AM Pep Rally.

ARC Post-Walk Pep Rally (11:00 - 11:45 AM, Bookstore Quad)

  • Dynamic emcee team with President Lisa Cardoza and a student/staff co-emcee.
  • Opening land acknowledgment in partnership with the Native American Resource Center.
  • Recognition of ARC clubs, departments, athletic teams, employees, and identity centers who joined the Wellness Walk.
  • Student Voices: reflections on what being “DAM PROUD” means at ARC.
  • Remarks from Student Senate, Clubs & Events Board, Academic Senate, Classified Senate, and Cabinet.
  • Rally concludes with a spirited group cheer, confetti poppers, and a community group photo.
  • Post-rally social with light treats inside the Student Center, alongside displays (floral sales and bee research).

Native Bee Project Spotlight: The BUZZ (10:00 AM - 2:00 PM : Student Center)

  • ARC students and/or faculty share their work from The BUZZ, a National Science Foundation funded project on ARC’s native bee biodiversity.
  • Explore preserved bee specimens under microscopes and learn how campus habitats support pollinators.
  • View posters and student-faculty research and discoveries made right here at ARC.

Horticulture Floral Sales (10:00 AM - 2:00 PM : Student Center)

  • Seasonal floral arrangements designed and created by students in ARC’s Floriculture program.
  • Sales support ARC’s Horticulture program while giving students hands-on experience in design and business skills.
  • Take home a beautiful, student-crafted arrangement and support applied learning at ARC.

Wellness & Belonging Event (Afternoon Time TBD : UNITE Center)

  • As part of ARC’s Homecoming wellness programming, the UNITE Center will host a bracelet-making activity.
  • Students, staff, and visitors are invited to create bracelets that reflect identity, pride, and connection.
  • The event welcomes all members of the ARC community, especially the Pride Center and our other campus learning communities to join and share in this space of creativity and care.
  • A relaxed, hands-on activity designed to promote wellness, belonging, and community connection.

ARC Emeritus Luncheon (Invitation-Only, hosted by ARC Philanthropy)

Instrumental Jazz Concert (7:30 – 9:30 PM : ARC Theatre)
