Description
As Los Rios enters the third phase of implementing Common Course Numbering (CCN), faculty engagement is essential to ensuring consistency, clarity, and student-centered alignment across our district and the California Community Colleges system. This one-hour online flex session will provide faculty with a clear understanding of the purpose and guiding principles of CCN, why this statewide initiative matters for student progress and transfer, and what Phase III requires from discipline faculty. Participants will learn how to interpret the CCN framework and what the curriculum conversion process looks like from start to finish.
The session will include a walkthrough of best practices for reviewing existing course outlines and converting them to their designated CCN. Time will be reserved for questions, clarifications, and discussion about local department impacts and next steps. Whether you are directly involved in curriculum design or simply want to understand how CCN will affect your courses, prerequisites, and pathways, this session will prepare you to confidently navigate Phase III.
