Flex Event Graphic

Many faculty are striving to develop AI tools for student learning (rather than students using it as a tool for just answering questions on an assignment or an exam). In addition, faculty are often being asked to create learning materials that are ADA accessible, zero cost to the student, and able to reach multiple modes of attendance and learning...all at the same time. Sounds like an impossible ask?

In this flex event, you will get a chance to see how some faculty have turned to using Google NotebookLM (an AI tool) to try to solve this very difficult problem...and without an explosion of faculty workload. We will also discuss privacy, intellectual property, and assessment concerns after seeing how the tool works.

This working flex event is designed by faculty, for faculty. Please bring one assignment with you that you would like to practice with to see if the tool might be useful to you (not required...we'll have a sample for you to use too).

Watch the following short video to get a feel for where this flex event is coming from.

Attendance at this professional development activity is limited to Los Rios employees and invited participants.

Facilitated by: Randy Schuster SLOAC Coordinator; Dr. Dyanne Marte, AI Faculty Fellow and Arts PD Trainer
