This 3-hour workshop introduces faculty to LibreTexts as a platform for finding, curating, remixing, and creating OER. Participants will also explore practical ways AI can support OER development while maintaining faculty oversight. This workshop supports ARC faculty in expanding Zero Textbook Cost and OER efforts by building practical knowledge and skills. Colleagues will learn how to use LibreTexts to find and develop course materials and how to use AI thoughtfully to save time while maintaining faculty expertise, accuracy, accessibility, and student-centered design. The workshop aligns with ARC’s goals around affordability, innovation, and equitable access to instructional materials. Attendance at this professional development activity is limited to LRCCD employees and invited participants.
Before the workshop, participants will be asked to:
- Create a verified instructor account on LibreTexts
- Bring a course outline, syllabus, or one unit/lesson/module they may want to revise.
