Movie Description: Directed by Chloe Zhao and shot in South Dakota's Badlands, the movie's characters are all Lakota Sioux. The story depicts modern reservation life and culture. Based on the real-life story of trainer and rider, Brady Jandreau, an "Indian cowboy" is presented among real-life members of the Lakota Sioux tribe playing fictionalized versions of themselves. Numerous awards were won including Art Cinema Award (Cannes), Golden Athena (Athens International Film Festival), Best Actor (Brady Jandreau) and Best Director (Chloe Zhao) (National Society of Film Critics), and the Inaugural Bonnie Award (Film Independent Spirit Awards) among other prestigious nominations.
