Join some of your colleagues for a Faculty Walk & Talk professional development event! This semester, we'll be meeting along the American River Parkway in hopes that more faculty will join us.

This is Comunidad's semi-annual district-wide meeting, where we will be discussing the planning of Honrando Nuestros Estudiantes (Latinx Graduation Celebration), HSI, and other advocacy matters.

The goal of this event is to foster empathy, grace, and understanding for our neurodivergent selves,students, staff, and colleagues. This seminar will introduce you to critical terminology and vocabularyneeded to understand neurodiversity, including the neurodivergent umbrella, executive functions,sensory processing, and more.

This training is split into two parts: the first 30-minute session is for all staff and covers how to identify and respond to students expressing suicidal thoughts, including Los Rios's protocol and after-hours support. The second 45-minute session is for counselors and focuses on using the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale for risk assessment and safety planning.

This workshop is the first of a three-part series. It is designed to use engaging conversation and interactive exercises to examine commonly used terms and concepts in equity, inclusion and belonging (EIB) learning.

This presentation aims to clarify key terminology and policies affecting undocumented and mixed-status students, raise awareness of their experiences and concerns, and examine how they are impacted at our institution. It also seeks to promote a campus culture that supports and includes students regardless of immigration status.
