Join us at DSPS for an interactive open house and hands-on demo session featuring the wide range of Assistive Technologies available to support students with disabilities at our college. From braille printers to magnifiers, tactile graphics, text-to-speech tools, and more, this session will spotlight how these tools empower access and independence in the classroom.

We will be looking at ways in which AI (especially large language models) can be leveraged to facilitate teaching by preparing example documents for students to analyze, facilitating the research process, and receiving workshop-level feedback on essays.

The goal of this workshop is to empower educators and presenters to find their funny and bring their most authentic selves into our professional teaching and learning spaces. Using humor in communication increases learning, focuses attention, relaxes audiences, and bridges interpersonal connection.

During the workshop, we will be playing games, laughing, and having fun, all while connecting the skills from improv to professional skills to use in life and the workplace.

The Parrot has shared the beauty and diversity of the immigrant cultures at ARC, focused on the needs of Sacramento’s refugee populations, and sought to build bridges of belonging and community.
