Welcome to the start of the Fall 2025 semester!
Whether you are returning, joining us for the first time, or were with us through the summer, we are grateful to have you as part of the American River College community. We hope you had time to disconnect and re-energize this summer. The start of the semester is always a time of great energy, and as we walk the campus, we already see that spirit alive in your classrooms, service areas, and student interactions. Below are key updates and reminders from Instruction and Student Services to support a smooth and successful start to the semester:
Key upcoming items:
- Student Equity Plan (SEP) - We have been reflecting on our planning documents and DI reports as we start the process of informing the next SEP. A small group of faculty, classified professionals, and managers will continue to develop the plan and get feedback from the Academic Senate, Classified Senate, Student Senate, and the Governance Councils. The new plan is due to the Chancellor’s Office in November!
- Institutional Equity Plan - Through councils and senates, we are looking for the campus community to reaffirm the Institutional Equity Plan (IEP) for one more year to allow for a formal reaffirmation or updating throughout the next academic year. The next step will be for the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to charge the Institutional Effectiveness Council (IEC) to charter a work group to decide whether to reaffirm, revise, or redo the IEP.
- Homebases relocation status- In an effort to engage the campus community to gather feedback on the current HomeBase structure to ensure the program remains sustainable and continues to meet the needs of students, staff, and faculty. We had two listening sessions in Spring 2025 and one on Tuesday of FLEX Week. We will be hosting three more listening sessions this semester:
