We work with many wonderful people and serve many inspiring students. And yet collectively, many of us are feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, depleted and nearing burnout. In the system, many of us are facing what seem like never-ending, urgent needs and our own diminishing inner resources. Some of us are not feeling valued, understood, or included in the ways that most matter to us. This is spiritual pain, if we understand “spiritual” very broadly as that which infuses our lives with meaning, purpose, satisfaction, inspiration, joy, peace, comfort, power/energy and more.
Please consider joining this one-hour introduction to experience tending our spirits and to learn about the series being offered throughout the Spring 2025 semester. All staff, in any role, are invited to one or more of these 30-minute sessions. Each session will be an opportunity to reflect on a poem, selection from a sacred text (religious or not), quotes from a wide variety of sources, or engage in guided visualization/meditation. A variety of people will bring resources to help us tend our spirits. Whether you are religious or not, whether you consider yourself spiritual or not, this will nurture your inner life. You might think you do not have time for this. But can you really afford to not take the time for something like this? This event meets State PD Guidelines A, B; ARC Strategic Goal 3; ARC Competencies: Equity-Minded Service, Specialized Expertise.
