Mission
To support and promote the professional growth of managers at ARC by providing guidance, resources, and financial assistance for development activities that align with college and district goals.
Membership Composition
- Total of 3 members in a 2-year appointment
- At least one representative from each major operational area (e.g., Instruction, Student Services, and Administration).

Committee Roles & Responsibilities
- Review funding request applications submitted by managers for conferences, workshops, symposiums, retreats, or other professional growth activities.
- Encourage attendance and participation in development opportunities of interest to managers and their teams, in collaboration with other campus units (e.g., HR, Equity Office).
- Make recommendations for funding amounts based on established guidelines, budget availability, and priority alignment.
- Communicate widely the availability of professional development funding, application procedures, deadlines, and evaluation requirements.
- Maintain an up-to-date webpage with committee information, funding guidelines, membership list, minutes/agenda, and evaluation reports.
- Serve as liaison to other professional development committees and functions across campus and district-wide.
Application & Funding Guidelines
Eligible applicants: Permanent managers (those who have passed probation and have supervisory/leadership responsibilities).
The funded activity must:
- Relate directly to the applicant’s role or supervision of staff, and/or enhance services to students and/or campus operations.
- Clearly link to the college’s strategic plan, or priorities.
- Funding cap: $1,800 per fiscal year per manager (example)
- Travel and out-of-state activities must comply with district travel/travel-authorization guidelines.
Priorities in Funding Consideration
- First time applicants or those who have not previously received funding.
- Applicants presenting or facilitating at an event.
- Activities showing clear benefit to students, staff, or college operations.
- In-state opportunities (as preferred, but not exclusively).
- Applications submitted prior to the activity date (not after).
- Applicants who have completed evaluation reports from prior funded events.
Funding Application Deadlines & Meeting Dates
- Applications are received in 3 rounds.
- Spring 2026 Round 1 Application Deadline: Monday, February 2, 2026
- Funding Meeting: Thursday, February 12, 2026
- Spring 2026 Round 2 Application Deadline: Wednesday, April 1, 2026
- Funding Meeting: Thursday, April 16, 2026
- Summer 2026 Round 3 Application Deadline: Wednesday, July 1, 2026
- Funding Meeting: Thursday, July 16, 2026
- Fall 2026 Round 1 Application Deadline: Tuesday, September 1, 2026
- Funding Meeting: Thursday, September 17, 2026
- Fall 2026 Round 2 Application Deadline: November 2, 2026
- Funding Meeting: Thursday, November 19, 2026
Post-Activity Requirements
- Within 30 days of completing the funded activity, the applicant must submit an Activity Evaluation Form describing how the activity supported professional growth and benefited the college, staff, or students.
- Original receipts, travel authorization (if applicable), and evaluation must be submitted in accordance with the ARC Business Office guidelines for record-keeping and reimbursement.
