Course Materials Adoptions
Submitting your course materials adoptions on time helps students in many ways:
- The Bookstore has a greater chance of getting used copies, which save students money
- Students can see textbook costs before enrolling and can plan accordingly
- The Library has time to buy and process copies of all print textbooks
- Students can more easily use their financial aid to buy required materials
Reporting Material Costs and Adopting Supplies at the Los Rios Bookstore
A new law(AB 607) requires transparency in all course material costs (textbooks, software, supplies, field trips) at California public colleges. This information must be available to students before they register for classes.

Adoptions Deadlines
Each semester, adoptions should be submitted by the following dates:
- March 15: for Summer courses
- May 1: for Fall courses
- November 1: for Spring courses
